Department of Humanities and Sciences

The Department of Humanities and Sciences provides a strong foundation for core engineering courses, integrating a diverse range of subjects such as Engineering Graphics, English, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Environmental Studies, and Programming for Problem Solving. It serves as a crucial stepping stone for students, preparing them to transition into their specialized engineering disciplines. The department is committed to fostering fundamental knowledge through a structured academic approach.

The department, led by a team of highly qualified and experienced faculty, provides comprehensive academic support. Committed to strengthening students’ conceptual understanding and analytical skills, faculty members remain accessible for guidance, counselling, and clarifications as needed. The department also facilitates practical learning through well-equipped laboratories, including Scientific programming Lab, English Lab, Engineering Physics Lab and Chemistry Labs, Engineering Workshop, and Basic Electrical Engineering Lab.

The first-year administration is overseen by Dr. J. Kishore Babu, the Head of the Department. He is supported by various committees responsible for structuring academic timetables, maintaining discipline, and managing departmental resources. Additionally, the administration ensures the selection and organization of student groups for class management and extracurricular activities, encouraging active participation in institutional and external competitions.

A distinctive feature of the first-year administration is the Advanced Academic Center (AAC), which identifies and nurtures students with exceptional talents and innovative thinking. Through targeted initiatives, the department aims to provide a holistic learning environment that fosters academic excellence and professional development, equipping students with the skills necessary for success in their engineering careers.
